Querciatello is 600 m². It has two modern and well-equipped kitchens. One is large with ample cooking areas. The living room is two floors tall, with a balcony along the first floor & a big fireplace. The 100 m² party/activity room is ideal for weddings, parties or events with up to 50 guests or for yoga practice. It has a ping-pong table, exercise machine, table football and darts. This room has a large fireplace and is like an old monastery with columns and stained glass windows. There are 6 bathrooms & a guest toilet, 7 air-conditioned bedrooms with 7 double and 5 single beds. Further entrance, dining room, office area and laundry room.

Around Querciatello

Querciatello is located on the border of a national nature park & forest (Riserva naturale Foresta di Berignone) in a splendid & tranquil area for walkers, bikers & horse trekkers with narrow winding roads & forest paths. The municipality has established a comprehensive and well-signaled trekking system. The villa has splendid views of the countryside of the Val di Cecina, with rolling fields, vineyards, forests, olive groves & hilltop villages. On a clear day, you can see the mountain range of Carrera. You can swim in the local river or walk to the nearby village of San Dalmazio or the fortress of La Rocca Sillana.

Art

We chose Querciatello for its position and because of the unique and beautiful stonewalls. The walls are built of a combination of four types of stone and reused bricks and this building style is only found on our hill. The materials and decor chosen focus on warm tones and we have made our own furniture, woodwork, glass, ceramics and paintings specially for Querciatello. We have used natural and rustic materials to maintain the character of a Tuscan farmhouse without compromising comfort and modernity. The art work is on different themes, for example; in the living room, a collection of “coat of arms” inspired by Tuscan town halls, in the bathrooms ceramic borders with wild animals from our area and for the office and corridor we have made furniture with inlayed wood motives inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphosis.
